Co-branding

This guide is for authorized Autodesk value added resellers (VARs), value added distributors (VADs), training centers, and developers to ensure the Autodesk brand is accurately and consistently portrayed in all your communications. All other co-branding relationships, including endorsements, must be approved by Autodesk Public Relations and Legal.

Autodesk values our partnership with you. We encourage you to communicate your relationship with Autodesk in all marketing materials that promote Autodesk products and related services.

Value Added Resellers (VARs), Value Added Distributors (VADs), and Learning Partners—collectively referred to here as Partners—are an essential part of Autodesk’s business. To communicate this relationship, we have created logos that identify Partners’ relationships with Autodesk. These logos are intended for eligible Partners only, and we encourage you to use them in all marketing materials that promote Autodesk products and related services.

Autodesk co-branded partner logo

All Partners—VARs, VADs, Learning Partners, etc.—are provided with the Autodesk co-branded partner logo, which consists of the partner type or tier.

Partners should use the Autodesk co-branded partner logo where most discreet co-branding is called for, such as on event graphics and ad banners.

Example of Autodesk partner logo, showing the main Autodesk logo with partner type or tier below it

Autodesk co-branded partner specialization logo

Partners can promote their expertise by augmenting their Autodesk co-branded partner logo with their specialization, certification, and service designations to create a stacked configuration.

Use the stacked configuration where featuring the complete list of specializations and services is desirable, such as in email marketing and website.

Example of Autodesk partner logo, augmented with additional info for VARs

VARs will create their own stacked logos with their specialization, certification, and service designations using the VAR Stacked Logo Templates. See the VAR logo FAQ for instructions. (All links require access.)

Logos are provided in two formats—EPS and PNG—and three different color profiles. An Autodesk black logo with gray rules, a one-color Autodesk Black logo, and a one-color Autodesk White logo. While the logo with the gray rules is the standard logo, Partners may use any version.

Logos can be resized as needed. When resizing for screen use, always scale the EPS version of the logo file, then resave it as a PNG at the size you need. Proportions should remain the same. Do not scale to a size that compromises legibility.

Autodesk protects its trademark rights to distinguish Autodesk’s products and services from those offered by others and to enhance Autodesk’s brand and reputation in the marketplace.

When using any Autodesk trademark, Partners and their agencies must comply with all applicable intellectual property laws. Partners are responsible for ensuring all company and product branding and related materials follow Autodesk’s style and trademark guidelines.

Autodesk may require Partners to change or remove any branding materials that violate these policies or principles. While we prefer not to enforce changes, failure to comply may impact a Partner’s standing and eligibility.

Please note: All costs for bringing materials into compliance with Autodesk’s brand requirements are the Partner’s responsibility.

As an Autodesk Partner, you have two options for co-branding: Autodesk-affiliated marketing or Autodesk-branded marketing.

Autodesk-affiliated marketing, the more common option when Partners create their own assets, showcases the Partner’s brand while highlighting their relationship with Autodesk.

Autodesk-branded assets are generally created by Autodesk and posted to the Partner DAM (access required).

Whether choosing to create branded or affiliated marketing, both must include the Partner’s own company logo alongside the Autodesk co-branded partner logo.

When creating Autodesk-branded marketing materials, first start by understanding our core brand elements. The links below point to key resources that explain how to apply the Autodesk brand effectively and consistently.

Voice system

Our voice brings to life the stories we tell. It builds and deepens our relationships with our audiences and customers. Following our voice system ensures our brand stays consistent while allowing for tone to fit the context. The Autodesk brand voice is optimistic, trusted, and, above all, human.

Visual system

Our brand system helps Autodesk stand out visually. Find out how to use our distinctive elements.

  • Color
    • When creating Autodesk-branded materials, Partners should make use of our color system. Our primary colors are Autodesk Black, Autodesk White, and, for strategic emphasis, Hello Yellow.
  • Typography
  • Imagery
    • Approved images are available on the Partner DAM (access required). Though most images on the Partner DAM are wholly owned by Autodesk, always review an image’s metadata and make sure that all usage requirements are followed.
    • When selecting images to use with the Autodesk co-branded partner logo, remember that they must appropriately represent the relationship between the Partner company and Autodesk.

Digital ads must include both the Partner’s company logo and the Autodesk co-branded partner logo. Due to limited space, display ads should only feature the Autodesk co-branded partner logo—not the specialization.

Use a clean, well-structured layout with a clear CTA (call-to-action). The preferred placement for the Autodesk co-branded partner logo is the bottom of the ad, right justified.

General guidelines

  • Follow the sizing requirements of the particular platform you’re using for both mobile and desktop.
  • Keep copy concise and action-driven.
  • If creating Autodesk-branded materials, use pre-approved imagery from the Partner DAM. Otherwise, consult Imagery.
  • Never place text over images.
  • Use photography when showcasing event speakers, sessions, or highlights.

When creating email marketing, always follow current rules, including privacy regulations, opt-out language, and required footer links. Keep subject lines clear and honest—don’t make any misleading claims.

Using logos

Place the Autodesk co-branded partner logo in the lower-left or lower-right corner of the email. Use either the Autodesk co-branded partner logo or the Autodesk co-branded partner specialization logo following usage rules. The Partner’s company logo should appear at the top, in the upper-left or upper-right corner.

Display the Autodesk co-branded partner logo in the site header, preferably on the left, aligned with the header text. The Autodesk co-branded partner specialization logo can be added on secondary pages focused on specific industries or services.

Use Autodesk-approved brand images, photography, or technical images to capture the look and feel of the Autodesk brand.

Product branding

Individual product icons, badges, or lockups may be used to identify and differentiate individual Autodesk products on product pages or within eStores. Always reserve product branding for the area below the hero section.

Partner’s company
website header

Hero component

  • Lead with the Autodesk co-branded partner logo.
  • The tiered logo must have at least 30px padding.
  • The logo should not
overlap imagery.
  • Left align the Autodesk co-branded partner logo and all text in the header.
  • All text and the Autodesk co-branded partner logo must follow accessibility guidelines based on country.

Product branding

  • A product icon should be used when the display dimension is below 256 pixels to avoid badge legibility issues. Use a product badge when the display dimension is 256 pixels or above.
  • Product icons should
be top aligned.
  • Product icons should have plenty of clear space.

Events are a great chance to create memorable experiences that educate, inspire, and build trust with customers and prospects.

Use the mockups below as inspiration for any event activations. For more tips on creating immersive experiences, see Events.

Event visuals

Consistency across assets unifies the experience and makes messaging memorable. The visuals at the event should align with the Partner’s own pre-event marketing and any follow-up collateral.

Event branding contains fixed and flexible elements:

  • Fixed elements must always appear, and include the Partner’s company logo, the Autodesk co-branded partner logo, and Partner’s company branding.
  • Flexible elements can be adapted for different events or audiences, such as theme, visuals, and layouts.

Logo placement

  • Place the Partner’s company logo in the upper left and the Autodesk co-branded partner logo in the upper right of booth signage or banners.
  • When space does not allow for the two logos to be on the same horizon, the Autodesk co-branded logo may appear below and to the right of the Partner’s company logo, wherever it will not be obscured.
  • Always ensure that both logos are above foot level, according to event design best practices.

To ensure consistency, we recommend that when building an event ad, information about the event is placed in a standard sequence that begins with the Partner’s company logo at top and ends with the Autodesk co-branded partner logo at bottom. In between, include the event dates and location, the event theme, a title or heading, and, if needed, body copy.

Hierarchy, spacing, and contrast

When creating event advertising, make sure to:

  • Lead with the Partner’s company logo followed by the Autodesk co-branded partner logo.
  • Maintain generous spacing between logos, dates, and themes.
  • Align all elements to the 4px baseline grid. See Layout system for more information.
  • Place text on Autodesk Black or Autodesk White for accessibility.

At minimum, include event dates and location, separated by a pipe. Use the appropriate local date convention, i.e. MM/DD/YY or DD/MM/YY, etc.

Note: Including the year in the event date is optional but encouraged to avoid confusion if a website stays live in subsequent years.

For Autodesk-affiliated print collateral, such as a cover for a white paper, Partners may use their own content and imagery provided the Partner’s company logo is in the upper-left or upper-right corner, and the Autodesk co-branded partner logo or specialization logo is in the lower-left or lower-right corner.

Autodesk-branded collateral should reflect the Autodesk brand. Imagery should be sourced from the Partner DAM (access required), and all text must be set in Artifakt Legend Bold for headlines and subheads and Artifakt Element Regular for body copy. Either the co-branded partner logo or the specialization logo may be used.

Partner-produced videos can highlight the Partner’s relationship with Autodesk by following Autodesk brand conventions for title cards and paying close attention to color, logos, and fonts. The Partner’s company logos should be the primary focus, followed by the Autodesk co-branded partner logo.

Partners are restricted from editing or altering Autodesk-owned videos, however, Partners may externally share the unaltered Autodesk videos as instructed by Autodesk.

In Partner-owned videos, Autodesk co-branded partner logos should clearly communicate the brand relationship.
Logo end frames are the ideal place for co-branding.

Lower thirds

A standard lower-thirds convention is used to identify speaker information. This should include the Partner’s logo and branding, with the Autodesk co-branded partner logo set off to the right, equal to or less than the size of the Partner’s company logo.

Always make sure the Partner’s company logo is the primary logo. The Autodesk co-branded partner logo should be positioned in the lower-right corner.
